Since announcing our Intro to Linux course for free on the edX platform a year ago, we've been working on doing a variety of things to make Linux learning and access to tour training and certification programs more accessible to all.
For example, we partnered with edX to make our Introduction to Linux course available for free to anybody interested in learning about Linux. We also released a new online, self-paced Essentials of System Administration course to help people learn necessary enterprise IT sysadmin skills at a reasonable price point. Finally, we launched a new performance-based certification program designed to help Linux sysadmins and engineers demonstrate their real-world Linux skills to employers without having to travel to a testing center.
After reviewing this year's Linux Jobs Report from Dice and The Linux Foundation, we know that Linux adoption is still outpacing the certified professionals available on the market. And, the report surfaced that 44 percent of hiring managers are more likely to hire a candidate with a certification than without.
In our ongoing effort to increase access to Linux training and certification, expand the talent pool and help meet the demand for Linux talent, we are offering a special promotion on our Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE) exam. The exam, normally priced at $300, will be 50 percent off ($150) for a limited time.
So if you’ve been on the fence about getting certified, now’s definitely the time to jump in and demonstrate your expertise.
