Earn Your Professional Certificate in Introduction to Kubernetes and Cloud Native Technologies

September 13, 2022Announcements

The Linux Foundation’s 10th Annual Open Source Jobs Report, produced in collaboration with edX, found that functional knowledge of cloud technologies are among the highest in-demand skills being sought by employers.

The 2022 report found that 77% of employers are increasing their use of cloud, meaning demand for talent will only continue to grow. At the same time, 93% of hiring managers are unable to find enough talent with open source skills, and cloud skills are the most sought after.

If you’re new to the cloud, but interested in pursuing a career in cloud-based technologies; or if you’re part of an organization that is looking to integrate Kubernetes and cloud native patterns into your technology systems, you’ll need to obtain some foundational knowledge – and quickly.

The Introduction to Kubernetes and Cloud Native Technologies Professional Certificate program includes learning designed for students, as well as existing and aspiring developers, administrators, architects and managers who are new to the world of cloud native technologies and Kubernetes.

Taught by industry experts with a deep understanding and passion for these technologies, you’ll gain both knowledge and insights that can help your organization (and your own career).

This professional certificate program consists of three courses:

Start your cloud journey by exploring the various tools and techniques commonly used by Linux system administrators and end users to achieve their day-to-day work in a Linux environment – most cloud native technologies and cloud providers run on top of Linux.

Continue with an overview of common cloud technologies, an introduction to Iaas, PaaS, CaaS, and learn about basic operations with containers and images, software-defined networking and software-defined storage solutions, the skill sets needed to deliver next generation cloud, and the challenges of cloud technologies.

Last but not least, learn about the origin, architecture, primary components, and building blocks of Kubernetes, getting hands-on experience with Minikube.

And this is just the beginning! Upon completion of the Professional Certificate, learners will be prepared to move into further training and pursue the Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) certification from the Linux Foundation which was jointly created with CNCF.

To earn the professional certificate, participants must enroll in the program, complete all three courses, and pay a verified certificate fee of $149 per course. Each of the three courses can also be taken through edX in audit mode for no cost for those who do not require a certificate of completion.
