Prove You Can Use Backstage as a
Force Multiplier for Complex IT Ecosystems
Cloud Native Computing Foundation and Linux Foundation Education are excited to announce the launch of the Certified Backstage Associate (CBA) certification. Designed for IT engineers, developers, platform engineers and other IT professionals, the CBA proves you have the mindset and skills to work in and build Backstage tools that improve performance and drive innovation benefiting your career, your team and your organization.
“As the complexity of modern software development grows, developer experience and efficiency are essential for organizations of all sizes,” said Chris Aniszczyk, CTO, CNCF. “A Backstage certification improves skills across teams building on top of the most popular open source IdP, ensuring everyone is equipped to leverage the platform to boost individual productivity, enhance collaboration and increase developer efficiency.”
“We continue to see more and more companies adopt the Backstage open source framework as their internal developer portal of choice. The framework’s customization, extensibility and scalability makes Backstage the preferred IdP for organizations of all shapes and sizes, from finance, government, health care and manufacturing, to scale-ups, startups and other digital natives,” said Pia Nilsson, Head of Platform Developer Experience, Spotify. “As the ecosystem of Backstage plugins, features and service providers continues to grow, the demand for Backstage experts also grows. With the CNCF’s Certified Backstage Associate program, companies now have a way to identify and tap into that expertise, while helping to contribute back to the growing Backstage community.”
Backstage is an open platform that helps organizations manage and streamline their software development infrastructure. It centralizes tools, services, and documentation, making it easier for developers to navigate complex systems and improve productivity.
“Earning a Backstage certification can be a career game-changer for developers and IT engineer’s careers,” said Clyde Seepersad, SVP, General Manager, Linux Foundation Education. “The CBA certification validates an IT professional’s expertise in modern development practices while also positioning them at the forefront of industry innovation.”
