Lead Meetings That Foster Teamwork, Inspire Action
and Achieve Tangible Results
Linux Foundation Training and Certification has launched the new, free course Leading High-Performance Working Group Meetings (LFC120). Designed for Working Group Chairs and active participants who want to improve their technical collaboration leadership skills. The course offers strategies and solutions for both experienced leaders and newcomers to open source or standards projects.
“Working Groups are the core collaboration unit of a technical project,” said Jory Burson, VP of Standards, Linux Foundation. “Effective Working Groups empower participants to make relevant contributions and consensus-based decisions that improve the quality of the work and speed time-to-delivery.”
The course serves as a guide for leading effective Working Group meetings, emphasizing the Chair’s pivotal role in ensuring success. Participants will learn skills essential to navigating team dynamics, managing conflicting agendas, ensuring productive discussions and overcoming communication barriers. The course focuses on: strategic planning, including goal setting; fostering a dynamic, collaborative environment; time management; and the integration of technology to lead the meetings more efficiently and effectively.
“The crucial role of the Working Group Chair in open source and standards project outcomes is often overlooked,” said Clyde Seepersad, SVP, General Manager, Training & Certification, Linux Foundation. “This course puts the role front and center to help drive progress and foster collaboration that ensures sustainable success.”
