We’re proud to announce that we are partnering with Hacking the Workforce, an organization which aims to increase the overall well-being including mental health, physical health, and economic health of Black LGBTQ members in the field of cybersecurity, and more broadly tech. The Linux Foundation recognizes the importance of creating a safer, more inclusive workforce and society for Black LGBTQ people in the cybersecurity profession, by providing scholarships to promising individuals to help learn the skills they need to succeed in a cybersecurity career.
Linux Foundation Training & Certification will provide 20 scholarships for its Linux Security Fundamentals (LFS216) online training course, which teaches participants to assess their current security needs, evaluate current security readiness and implement security options as required. As cloud technologies are in especially high demand right now, and the rate of attacks on cloud systems continues to grow, an additional 10 scholarships will be awarded for a cloud security training and certification program that includes:
- Kubernetes Fundamentals (LFS258)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) exam
- Kubernetes Security Essentials (LFS260)
- Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) exam
Hacking the Workforce will accept applications for the 30 scholarships from their community, and choose recipients based on merit and need.
